The 2011 survey had a total of 274 U.S. respondents, representing 5.2 million lives enrolled in employer-sponsored coverage. Not all respondents provided their group size so the estimated number of members represented is 6.7 million. The sample was developed from PBMI's proprietary database of employers sponsoring drug benefit programs as well as Employee Benefits News magazine and AIS Health subscribers who are managers, directors or vice presidents of benefits.
