Nearly 30% of employers were in the service industry (compared to 21% in 2010), followed by the manufacturing industry, which represented 21% of respondents (Figure 6). The South was the reported geographic location for 31% of employers, compared to only 25% of employers in 2010 (Figure 7). The percentage of Midwest employers dropped to 29% in 2011 from 34% in 2010.
