The percentage of employers providing retiree drug coverage was 57% in 2011, a reflection of the higher percent of large employers represented in the sample. The retiree drug subsidy program was the strategy of choice for 41% of the employers offering retiree coverage (Table 6). The large increase in the percentage of employers responding None of the Above or Don't Know (35%) to the retiree strategy question may once again signal the continued erosion in the provision of drug benefit coverage by employers.
